Pilgrims of Light ( June 9, 2023) “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20) Children and heirs of God to an eternal inheritance, we as believers are not of this troubled world; we are merely pilgrims passing through the earth, waiting for “the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:10) Our citizenship is in Heaven, our salvation having been sealed since we first believed in Jesus Christ, accepted His sacrifice for our sins, and received God’s amazing grace! Our eternal destiny is secure, but until Jesus calls us home to be with Him forever, we must press on to complete the work that our Lord has commanded us to do as His earthly beacons, servants, and ambassadors. As we sojourn along the straight and narrow road to Heaven, we must brightly shine the light of Christ into the darkness of an unbelieving world! “Do all things without compla...
Who Is Jesus to You? ( June 26, 2023) “ And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” ” (Matthew 3:17) The fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is one of the foundational truths of the Christian faith. God’s beloved and only begotten Son put aside His heavenly glory and made Himself of no reputation, taking on the form of a humble servant made in the likeness of men. As both God and man, Jesus was sent to earth by God the Father on a mission to save us from our sins. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself and His plan for mankind’s redemption through Christ. In a discussion of His identity among men during Christ’s earthly ministry, Jesus was told by His disciples that some people said He was John the Baptist, while others perceived Him to be one of the prophets. Jesus then asked His followers this crucial question: “But who do you say that I am?” In a bold confession based on insight from the heavenly Father, Pe...
A Lesson in Loyalty ( November 20, 2025) “ Through the Lord ’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23) One admirable quality that is increasingly disappearing from human relationships of the 21 st century is loyalty, faithfulness to each other and to God. In today’s faithless culture, people tend to shun long-term commitments, especially in marriage and the family. In a materialistic, self-centered, and immoral world, we need to be careful where our loyalties and allegiances lie. As Christians who’ve been commanded to be witnesses of God’s boundless love and saving grace, we must make sure our lives speak of our loyalty and faithfulness to Christ despite Satan’s ceaseless attempts to persuade us to go the way of the world. A biblical lesson in loyalty is the story of Ruth, the Moabite daughter-in-law of the Jewish woman Naomi. Becaus...
