                                 God Delivers Us from Satan’s Temptations (February 23, 2023)

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

Whether we have professed our faith in Jesus Christ and been saved by God’s grace or, through unbelief, remain lost in our sins, we all face temptations that appeal to what the Bible calls “the lust of the flesh.” (1 John 2:16) Scripture also tells us that these fleshly lusts are not of God, but are a product of a world that is temporarily under the devil’s dominion. Skillfully executing his strategy of deceit, Satan seeks to tempt us in an effort to exploit and expose our sinful human nature and to bring out the absolute worst in us!

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Our merciful heavenly Father delivers trusting believers from worldly temptations and empowers us to resist the devil’s ongoing attempts to entice us to submit to sin that separates humanity from a righteous God.  As an integral part of the process of our spiritual maturity as Christians, God sometimes uses earthly trials to draw us back when we give in to temptation and stray from Him, refine our faith, and gradually shape us into the likeness of His Son, Christ the LORD. God nurtures, disciplines, and tests His beloved children in order to bring out the very best in us!

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12)

  Simply Believe! ( November 2, 2023) “ Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24) Unfortunately, our Christian faith can fluctuate with the changing circumstances of our lives? We are flawed like all human beings, and our trust in God often ebbs or flows depending upon whether or not we’re experiencing happy times or life’s trials.
