 Know God and Experience His Love (June 16, 2023) 

“He who does not love does not know God for God is love.” (1 John 4:8) 

I am thankful every day that my God, the one true God who created the universe and you and me in His own image is a God of love! In fact, He first loved us so dearly and deeply that He gave Himself as a sacrifice for our sins so that we can have everlasting life. There are many people and things of this world that I love, but no one or nothing above God. Jesus Christ is my first love and highest priority. Because I love God wholeheartedly, I seek to express my adoration through humble service to Him and other people to His honor and glory! 

To know our LORD personally through a faith-based relationship with Him is to love Him and desire to know Him better, in a closer, more intimate way. That is why it is vitally important to be still and spend quiet time in prayer, meditation on His Word, and fellowship with Him daily. The better I know Him and the more I experience His grace and love, the more I want to share it with others and make Him known to them. I find matchless comfort in knowing that while worldly things soon pass away, from God’s incomprehensible love, believers can never be parted!

  Not My Will… ( March 29, 2023) “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Before His unjustified arrest and brutal crucifixion, Jesus—knowing the extreme suffering that He was about to endure for mankind’s salvation—retreated to the Mount of Olives to take His anguish to His Father in heaven through prayer. While His disciples slumbered nearby in the Garden of Gethsemane, our L ORD, showing His humanity, sweat great drops of blood as He pleaded with the Father to make another way if possible.   What a Waste! ( April 17, 2023) “ Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. ” (1 Peter 5:6-7) In terms of personality types, many of us could be categorized as worriers. Looking back over my life and considering the frequency with which I have engaged in the futility of worry without any benefit, I have to think, “What a waste!” Worry—defined as a state of anxiety or uncertainty over actual or potential problems—is worthless!
