 Unstoppable (October 23, 2023)

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) 

“Unstoppable” was the theme of a spiritually refreshing guys getaway attended by six men from my church during the weekend at Fort Caswell at Oak Island on the NC coast. The featured speaker, retired college and NFL coach Bob Sanders related this theme to our daily walk as followers of Jesus Christ. 

In our human frailty and weakness, we long to shed our limitations and become something more. Thankfully, as believers, we can be unstoppable because we have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside us. Christ in us, “the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27), is the unstoppable source of the God-given strength that empowers us to live victoriously in a world where Satan seeks to defeat us. 

Our identity is in Christ who has overcome the world and given us access to the divine armor of God that shields and protects us from the devil’s deceptions. Our earthly lives are fleeting, but in Christ we all can become the best that we can be, knowing that we have our LORD’s unstoppable promise that we will spend eternity in His glorious presence. Our strength and hope are found not in this fallen world but exclusively in Jesus Christ! In Christ we are invincible!

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

  Simply Believe! ( November 2, 2023) “ Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24) Unfortunately, our Christian faith can fluctuate with the changing circumstances of our lives? We are flawed like all human beings, and our trust in God often ebbs or flows depending upon whether or not we’re experiencing happy times or life’s trials. Satan constantly attempts to deceive us, draw us astray in our walk by faith with God, and bring about our ultimate downfall and defeat. However, we must remember that He who is in us—Jesus Christ living in our hearts through the Holy Spirit— “is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) Simply believe!
