A Christmas Message of Hope (December 25, 2023)

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

Christmas is the season of hope! As Christians around the world celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can rejoice in the hope that is ours because the Son of God chose to set aside His heavenly glory, enter humanity, and, in obedience to His Father’s will, fulfill a divine purpose. Because of Christmas, believers have a present and eternal hope without which our earthly lives would be meaningless and devoid of purpose. The world was hopelessly lost in sin, dead spiritually, and doomed to an eternity apart from our righteous Creator, when God demonstrated the greatest love imaginable by sending the incarnate Christ to live a sinless life among us and to die for us so that we might have forgiveness of our sins and the blessed assurance of abundant and everlasting life.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

We can all find encouragement, knowing that no matter what our circumstances are, regardless of how bleak our lives may look, despite the sins we have committed in the past, Almighty God loves us unconditionally and He has a plan to prosper each of us and give us a bright future and a matchless hope. This victorious outcome is divinely promised to everyone who wisely chooses to access God’s grace through faith in our risen LORD, whereby our human unrighteousness is cleansed and we receive the gift of eternal salvation. Christ is the answer to all of our worldly problems, but we must trust Him for God to accomplish His purpose for our lives. Jesus is our glorious hope, our only hope! This Christmas embrace Christ by faith, love Him wholeheartedly, and allow Him to manifest Himself to the world through you.

“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27)
