 Only Christ Offers Eternal Security (April 24, 2024) 

"And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." (John 10:28)

 We live in a dynamic world that is constantly changing. Every day we face uncertainty in connection with our relationships with other people, our health, our careers, worldly events, and virtually all areas of our personal lives. Author and artist Emilyann Girdner wrote: “No matter what there always seems to be something clouding my existence, nothing is ever clear.” While uncertainty is a way of life in an ever-changing world, we can know with perfect clarity our eternal destiny when we enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The unpredictability of our earthly lives may prompt feelings of insecurity, but believers can be certain that they are eternally secure in Christ. 

The Bible teaches that no one can get to heaven based on his or her good works in this life. Only through faith in Jesus by the grace of God do we receive the gift of salvation and the promise of everlasting life. When we accept Christ as our personal Savior, we are clothed in His righteousness and our salvation is sealed by the indwelling Holy Spirit, who empowers us to overcome sin and gradually cultivates within us Christlike qualities. That’s not to say we’ll never sin again, but when we do, our confessed sins are forgiven by a merciful God of love. Despite Satan’s ongoing efforts to introduce doubt into our minds, our salvation can never be lost. In Christ, we have the biblical assurance of eternal security.

  Simply Believe! ( November 2, 2023) “ Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24) Unfortunately, our Christian faith can fluctuate with the changing circumstances of our lives? We are flawed like all human beings, and our trust in God often ebbs or flows depending upon whether or not we’re experiencing happy times or life’s trials. Satan constantly attempts to deceive us, draw us astray in our walk by faith with God, and bring about our ultimate downfall and defeat. However, we must remember that He who is in us—Jesus Christ living in our hearts through the Holy Spirit— “is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) Simply believe!   An Eternally Secure Identity in Christ ( October 24, 2023)   “ By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35) When voters go to the polls in the general election in two weeks, we will have to present to the poll worker our driver’s license or other acceptable identification in order to cast a ballot.
