“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
In every circumstance of life, even in the stormiest of seasons, we should
be mindful of the fact that we are richly blessed by a God of love, who uniquely
created you and me in His own image, genuinely desiring to have a personal
relationship with each of us. None of us deserves it, but saints and lost sinners
alike daily receive God’s good gifts and heavenly provisions. Sadly, however,
we tend to take for granted the myriad of gracious blessings and divine favors
that the LORD pours out to us every
day, simply because He loves everyone, wants the best outcomes for our lives,
and desires that none should perish spiritually. In addition to providing for our
daily sustenance and eternal security, a benevolent God richly rewards our
faithful obedience and servanthood.
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good! For
His mercy endures forever.” (Psalm
107:1)
When we crawl out of bed in the morning and throughout the day, we should
purpose to express our heartfelt appreciation for the bounty of God’s blessings.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”
(James 1:17). Offering every believer the most perfect of all gifts, God gave
His beloved Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that, exclusively through faith,
we have abundant and everlasting life. An expression of His grace, our
salvation should keep us rejoicing all day long and working with passion and urgency
to share the gospel so that lost souls might be saved before Christ’s imminent
return. With praise and gratitude, let’s give this awe-inspiring God the honor
and glory that He alone deserves. Thank the LORD continually; it is the will of God for
you!
“Enter
into His gates with thanksgiving, and into
His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
and His truth endures to
all generations.” (Psalm 100:4-5)
