  A Living Sermon ( January 6, 2026) “ You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.   Nor do they   light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all  who are  in the house.”   (Matthew 5:14-15) As Christians, we have the greatest privilege imaginable—knowing and engaging in an intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Creator of the universe and the Savior of mankind. This blessing of a lifetime does not come without great responsibility, however. We have been commanded by our L ORD Himself to spread the gospel and evangelize to the world around us the good news that salvation and everlasting life are offered to everyone who chooses to receive God’s grace through faith in Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross as payment of their sin debt in full.
