The Way of the Cross (January 29, 2026)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Jesus Christ beckons everyone to come to Him in repentance, lay the weighty burden of their sins at the foot of His blood-stained Cross, and rest in the eternal security of His marvelous grace! The heavenly Father sent His beloved Son into the world to shed His blood for the remission of the sins of everyone that believes in Christ and accepts by faith God’s offer of forgiveness, His gift of salvation, and His assurance of everlasting life. In His divine patience and out of a sacrificial love that exceeds human understanding, God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9). Sadly, however, many individuals, refusing to turn away from their sinful lifestyles, stubbornly reject Jesus’ universal invitation to enter into His rest and be at peace with God. Their hearts having been hardened by sin, Jesus said in John 5:40, these are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)

Many people, under Satan’s deadly deception, claim that there are multiple pathways to heaven, including doing good deeds and indulging in empty religious rituals. Absorbed in the pursuit of worldly prosperity, pleasure, and power, many of these misguided souls think they can come to God on their own terms rather than accept His provision for their salvation through Christ alone. They reject the sound doctrine and truth of God’s Word, exalting humanity above God and claiming that truth is relative, not absolute. However, to avoid the second death, eternal torment in the lake of fire, one must approach a sovereign God on His conditions, exclusively by faith in Christ. God wants us to spend eternity in His presence in heaven, but we must come to His throne of grace through Jesus Christ! Only the way of the Cross leads to salvation!

Jesus said…“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
