The Name Above All (October 10, 2025)
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
God has highly exalted His beloved Son Jesus Christ and placed His glorious name above all others. Jesus is the name that saves! Through faith in Jesus, the heavenly Father extends grace to repentant sinners and welcomes us as children of God and joint-heirs with Christ. Jesus’ name is synonymous with salvation for, despite false worldly teaching, Christ is the one way to heaven! In fact, the name “Jesus” means “Savior!” And the good news of the gospel is that Jesus loves us all and freely forgives those who confess their sins and accept His sacrifice on the cross as punishment and payment in full for them. Christ offers as a free gift something we don’t deserve and cannot earn—everlasting life to all who call upon His name, believing that His death, burial, and resurrection free us from bondage to sin and its consequence, spiritual death.
“Inasmuch as there is none like You, O Lord (You are great, and Your name is great in might)…” (Jeremiah 10:6).
There’s something else about the matchless name of Jesus Christ to bear in mind. Whether you personally accept Jesus as your Savior, the wisest decision you will ever make, or reject His offer of grace, a tragedy of epic and eternal proportions, one day we will all confess the greatness of His most excellent name on bended knee. “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11) Most precious and infinitely powerful is the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God and mankind’s Redeemer. Unbelievers, call on the name of the LORD and be saved before its too late!
